7-Eleven, Inc. aims to donate more than $2 million to charities via “Coffee Cup with a Cause.” During 2010, 7-Eleven will partner with entertainment and sports celebrities to design limited-edition 20-oz coffee cups to be sold in 7-Eleven stores nationwide. Proceeds from the cups sold will benefit the featured celebrity’s charity of choice. While 7-Eleven is providing a guaranteed $250,000 minimum donation to each charity, donations could reach as high as $300,000, depending on the number of cups sold. Consumers can drive donations through the purchase of cups.
SolidLine was recently approached by MagicBullet in NYC to provide the official video crew for the Chicago launch of the newest “Coffee Cup with a Cause,” which features Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer Hudson is the second celebrity in the “Coffee Cup with a Cause” series, with proceeds from her custom-designed cups supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of America – a portion of which will directly benefit the Chicago Clubs. To kick-off her cup launch, Hudson made a surprise appearance at the Louis L. Valentine Boys & Girls Club of Chicago on March 31. Not only did the Club members get the opportunity to meet the Chicago-born star, they also got to show off their own talents through performances by the Club’s choir and dance groups.
