Video Production – 9 Stages of Client Approval

An HD video production is a complicated process, but our clients tell us that we somehow make it easy for them. That’s quite a compliment. It says volumes about our production process and the safeguards, checks and balances we’ve built into every stage.

There are nine critical points in our HD video production process that help refine and define the look and feel your corporate video will have. For each of these stages, we need your written approval before we proceed to the next step. That’s good for you, and it’s good for us. Here’s how it works:

Stage 1:  Creative Brief

We begin each corporate video project with several questions to determine your goals, the audience and the style of the production. For example, you may want a fully animated video or a promotional video shot at various corporate locations with employee interviews. You may want an explainer video that educates audiences about a specific product. We need to listen and dig deep to figure out exactly what your video production needs.

Stage 2:  Treatment

We write a short, one-page overview of the production concept for your review to ensure we are on the right track.

Stage 3:  Style Sheet

Our style sheet gives you a review of our proposed graphic “look and feel.” The document includes six storyboarded frames of graphics, font treatments (styles of type) and a color palette for the production.

Stage 4:  Script

This is the backbone of the HD video production. Everything else flows from the script and your approval.

Stage 5:  The 2-Column

Once the script is approved, we create the “2-column.” This document incorporates the narrative copy along with the video and graphic scenes in a 2-column audio/video format. This is the first time you will truly “see” your production on paper. We need your approval before proceeding.

Stage 6:  Motion Approval

This gives you a first look at your graphics in an animated environment, to ensure you like the style and flow. We proceed on your approval.

Stage 7:  Rough-Cut (RC)

You’ll see the first draft of your nearly completed HD video production. We’re eager to hear your comments and feedback.

Stage 8:  Final-Cut (FC)

You’ll have a second look at your nearly completed video with incorporated Rough-Cut changes. We’re excited to hear your comments and feedback.

Stage 9:  Picture-Lock (PL)

You’ll preview the final version of your corporate video production that reflects your feedback during the previous Final-Cut stage. Congratulations! Together, we’ve done it!

SolidLine Media’s ultimate goal is to create an original HD video production that meets your objectives, surpasses your expectations and delights you with the quality of the finished product.
