Some of the SolidLine Media team has been dispatched to Vegas this week. Tough life, right? However, while we’re sure they are enjoying sunny Sin City while we toil away in rainy Chicago, we also know they are there for business.
But, lucky for us, our business is pleasure. Executive Producer, Greg Vass and Director of Post Production, Michael Kromm, are currently pacing the strip as attendees of the National Association of Broadcasters [NAB] Show. That means that they are surrounded by industry professionals and amazing new developments. Kromm and Vass are our scouts, looking for new technology to enhance the content and workflow of SolidLine Media.
At SolidLine Media we’re always on the prowl for new tools to compliment our talent and help us produce the absolute best video productions for our clients. Anything from pre production organization and file sharing tools to new camera and sound equipment to the latest AVID and Adobe upgrades empowers us to create smoother processes and smarter projects for our clients.
What are we looking for this year?
Well, before take off, we were getting pretty excited about the buzz around the new Adobe After Effects update, and the art department hopes Adobe will also announce an update to Illustrator and Photoshop. On the software side, AVID is being pretty tight lipped about what they have planned but are rumored to announce something “game changing.” So that has us pretty excited.
We’re hoping to test out the new Sony F55 models and have our eyes on a few exciting Canon cine-cameras [C100, C300, C500 and 1DC) and Zeiss zoom lenses that would prove an exciting and valuable addition to our equipment. Additionally, Freefly systems has announced a revolutionary advancement in shot stabilization; sort of a gimbal head and steadicam combination.
Other than that, we’re all ears for what’s new in the industry and how we can use these new developments to better our work. Sometimes it’s the little things that make a huge difference.
