WHAT:

By most accounts, Volkswagen’s “The Force” commercial was the biggest winner at the 2011 Super Bowl. It featured a kid in a Darth Vader costume marching through the house, before using “the force” to start his father’s VW. The auto company is teasing this year’s ad by paying tribute to 2011’s big winner – with dogs barking “The Imperial March.”

STATS:

In just two days, the spot has been viewed more than 250,000 times. As one commenter on YouTube said, “I may have to buy a Volkswagen now.”

WHY WE LOVE IT:

The teaser pays homage to the original ad that connected with so many people, but creates something equally original and just as clever. Plus, even the biggest Ewok hater will love the dog at the bottom right. And the Chewbacca howler at :36? GEEK OVERLOAD!
